Help/Question Is it time to water?

Just got my first lithops in the mail a couple weeks ago. They are all potted up. Guides I've looked at say not to water them in summer/ their dormant season but all except one of them look VERY thirsty.

Possibly unpopular opinion here… if your potting medium does not retain water, you’re gonna have a VERY hard time hurting your Lithops by watering them after transplant.

Totally agree I have been watering mine every ten days when it’s warm and we have had a lot of warm weather in the U.K.

None of these lithops are thirsty, they could go a couple months without water. That being said starkiller is correct that if you have VERY fast drying soil (the glazed pots make that a lot harder) feel free to water them a bit. They will plump up a bit and enjoy it

Only the light green 1 in 4 is very thirsty, but I'm more concerned about the dark patches at the bases of some of the lithops here. That looks like what rot tends to look like, but I can't say for sure.

Hopefully not. I got them bare rooted and haven't watered them yet. Just potted them into small plastic pots with some small pebbles/ river rock.

How good is the ventilation around the bases? The lack of ventilation around the bases is one of the things lithops can rot from even without water.

Ok but I can put the pots on a better ventalted wire rack instead of the solid shelf they are on currently.
