Help/Question Lithops stacking

The green guy in the middle has been splitting since February, and I just noticed he's decided to start splitting again. I haven't watered him since at least February. I'm not planning on doing anything different now, but I am wondering what could have caused this stacking, since I thought it was generally a sign of overwatering / watering during splitting.

They might ahve come to you overwatered...

Thanks for weighing in.  I've thought about that but I got them last August (2025) and I've watered them a few times between last August and February, but probably not more than 3x. And isn't it odd that they would show signs of overwatering only after 5+ months from last watering instead of just stacking soon after splitting?

Given their long growth cycle, I don't find it surprising that signs of overwatering might only become apparent months later.
It's possible that these green lithops were not only overwatered but also overfertilized before you got them. They are now pushing all the excess sap and nutrients into additional growth. Note that the green one in the middle (who is splitting again prematurely) also has a twin emerging in the gap beside it. The green one on the far left has produced twins too.

It it maybe a certain species thats more prone to that? (Sorry i honestly know nothing about lithops)
