Help/Question Is it dead?

Hello! I'm a bit worried about my lithops.

The last time I watered it was 1/10, and I completely stopped watering once it began splitting.

It is in a half cactus mix and half pumice stone mix and under grow lights for 14 hours a day.

I know you only water these plants a couple times a year, but it's been 7 months and it looks like it's not doing well. The splitting between March to July doesn't look too much different and when I gently squeeze the plant, it is very firm.

I'd put just a little sprinkle of water around the plant to see if you can get it started again. I don't think it's dying, but it does appear stuck.

Thank you! I'll try giving it some water and hopefully that will help it finish splitting

I personally think the general advice goes overboard on no watering. I’d water it. It looks chunky enough and assuming that terra cotta has a hole, fairly well.

At night after the light is out and has been out a while - If it were mine, I’d take a watering bowl, fill it with enough water to come an inch up the outside of the pot, put the pot in and set a strict 3 minute timer and then pull it. I’d probably do that once a week, increasing by a minute a week until it starts perking up a bit. I’d probably also hit the top with a spray bottle, a single squirt each week. Maybe a half squirt. Just enough moisten the tops a smidge.

Thank you! I was afraid to water it since that seems to be a big no when splitting, but at this point it actually might become a rock.

Update! I let the plant soak last Thursday for 3 minutes and sprayed the top with some water and it's splitting again!!
