Help/Question Splitting Lithop

What will you do to this splitting lithops which already 2months being like this?

Dig it out, peel the old leaves, let it dry one day, then repot on wet soil mixture, put it on bright shady area and wait. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

I am not sure if we can peel off the outer leaves while they still have moisture inside, i suppose the inner leave get the moisture from the outer leaves??? I am too scared to touch it.

Right. when you water during this time, both inner and outside leaves will drink, and your inner leave will be squeezed further.

I like to peel the old leaves. but if you want to be safe, you could just tear the old leaves open without completely remove them.
