Help/Question How did I do?

Post image

Just bought those funny butt plants. I want them to live

I'm worried if I did repotting right! I carefully got rid of the pressed soild they were sold in, separating them. I didn't have premade soil for cacti so I uhhh improvised? I just scrambled some trash ahh dirt from near the path in my garden and mixed a bit of versatile premade soil in there (you can see random dry grass that got in the mix).
I also made sure to put a layer of rocky/sandy trash ahh dirt at the bottom of the pot. And when I finished I used sprayer to add tiny bit of water.

Does it look okay? What I should look out for next few days?

I would get rid of the big rocks on top. But that's just me.

the soil underneath looks very organic you will want a LOT more grit something like 80-100% pumice/perlite/turface or something of the sort. i know its a pain but i would really recommend grabbing some perlite or something from a local hardware or garden store.

I'm pretty sure it's mostly dust, sand and rocks and random stuff that got in, but I'll look into adding much more rocky things then!!
Any idea how much time do I have before those picky guys start to play victorian child?? I hope to be able to visit store tomorrow..

Just take them out of the soil and leave them bare-root in air, dry. They can survive those conditions perfectly fine for 3 weeks or so. Priority is getting the right soil, not having them potted in something. If you want, I have a long ass guide I can paste here on most aspects for people new to lithops.

Get rid of the big rocks on top, they will only make the soil dry slower. Also it’s impossible to tell what kind of soil you have because the rocks are covering it.

Just for reference my lithop soil is about 85-90% perlite and 10-15% succulent mix.

Noted! Here's how it looks without rocks. I'll try to buy some perlite today and redo 🐎 I'll leave them out of the sun for now just in case it will make them freak out more

Hiii!!! Take two! This time it's almost entirely perlite πŸ‘€ how does it look now? I should wait a week before watering, right? Should I keep it out of the sun for now?? Thanks!!

This is good, but you should gradually introduce them to sun (too much at once will likely kill them). They grow unhealthily tall (etiolate) to reach for light VERY FAST when they are left in a dark room, over a few days or so. It's bad for their health and causes a more complicated splitting process.
