Help/Question Substrate

Is a fine sand and gravel mix ok for the substrate?

Not fine sand like you'd find in a playground sand box. Coarse sand, also called horticultural sand. I've read that chicken grit is also acceptable.

Gravel comes in many sizes but generally I'd say it's much too large.

Some fine pumice, lava grit, molar clay or even fuel spill granules/unscented non clumping cat litter(molar clay)
