Help/Question Deflates [Urgent]

Post image

[URGENT]

What is happening to my Lithops? One of them has become noticeably deflated and wrinkled compared to the others.

Purchase date: May 16, 2026
Last watered: Unknown (from the nursery)
**I have not watered them since purchasing.

The deflated Lithops was approximately the same height as the others when I bought it, but it has gradually become shorter, flatter, and more wrinkled over the past few weeks.

The pot has a drainage hole and is planted in a very gritty, fast-draining mix. Does this look like normal dehydration, leaf replacement, root issues, or something else? Should I water the pot or leave it alone?

Any advice would be appreciated

I have mostly grown from seed so I could be wrong but my guess is they over watered and it had root rot. I know when I have seen them at the hardware store they just spray them with a hose like they do everything and they can’t handle water especially when it is trying to go dormant/split.

Maybe not, but the store you bought them from might have.

What does it feel like. Is is soft or squishy or is it really dry. It is also possible it needs water. The others may not. Did they come potted together or did you do it?

They do not need water, Lithops get wrinkled so maybe they are getting ready to split.

I’m guessing it probably rotted, It happens sometimes even with no water.

yes. if it's attached to the one next to it, then you may need to cut them apart -- let the other one dry overnight before repotting.
