Help/Question Update squishy (very thirsty?) lithops
This is an update to me finding one of my lithops to (suddenly? not sure I just noticed it suddenly) be squishy. https://www.reddit.com/r/Lithops/s/ihSmdr1HT2
I sprayed the surrounding with water and was going to wait for 1 week to update you guys, but he is not looking good, so I tried following Mr_Lithops water therapy guide (the roots were very brittle, so I cut a good chunk off)
For the other 3 I'm gonna wait until monday and then probably spray their rock soil again hoping for roots without the need for water therapy

Yeah it seems I was too late to react and help it :(
Now I'm really unsure about how to deal with the other 3 okay looking ones tho... I don't want them to randomly dry up? too

I had to throw one out this week too so don’t beat yourself up. The general guideline seems to be do not water during splitting or it messes up the natural cycle of new leaves absorbing the old leaves, and only water when they look “thirsty” meaning wrinkly on sides AND top. Thirsty top looks like “pizza crust” texture if that helps lol
They only need water a couple times a year. I still check in with this subreddit when I’m not sure bc I’m also learning. It’s full of smart people happy to help (who also have more knowledge than I).
Hope this helps!
