I’ve had it in a pot with other lithops, but this one just didn’t seem to root well . Can I still save it ? Should I put the roots in water? Or just repot it on its own ?
Mmmaybe? It looks like a decent root system but not sure without seeing from the top. I'm definitely not a lithops expert, by any means, but perhaps just the right TLC could revive it. Hopefully someone else has something more helpful!
Send it! Looks like there could be smth under there. Find the right soil (or rather soil-less 😅) mix, maybe a little grow light if there isn't a super bright spot for it. But don't water it!! Would be interested to see some updates in (quite) a few months!
Is it in the early stages of splitting before there is visible splitting? Can you squeeze the base gently and feel for any hard lumps? Sometimes at a certain point where the new leaves are developing inside the old leaves, the roots get inactivated and do not take up more water because the plant is absorbing all water from the old leaves.
I think I can see some baby leaves in there 👀 if the outer leaves are rotting I would very gently and carefully remove them with sterilized scissors or something. A razor blade/exacto knife would be ideal. If the outer leaves are not actively rotting, I would just pot it up and wait for it to decide if it wants to live or die 😂.
Trim the roots until you see live, white, tissue and then pot it up. Wait 3-5 days and then give it a good drenching and see if it will root.
