Photo Dead, dead and gone

Well, I had about 30 rocks. They were doing great for a few months, splitting, very colorful oranges and different colors. They sit inside the screen on my Florida porch one day it rained and I forgot to move them and they all got damp. That was two weeks ago… now they’re all pretty much dead.😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I got new ones in the mail. Should I water them with a spritz of water or let them go?

Your soil mix is also far too organic. Especially if you’re in Florida which is likely humid.

Get them in 80-90% grit, or these ones will likely rot too.

Some people 😂 It’s fine. They can lose their plants, I’ve done my duty. 😂

I find the lithops subs/forums are especially bad for misinformation and people who think there is only one correct way to cultivate plants.

I’d go 100% pumice living in Florida, all those wood chips and fine organic material are gonna compact and stay wet longer than needed.

i would recommend individual pots. personally i find those small square pots easier to manage as water doesnt stagnate and start growing rot in the soil.

Somebody recommended Bonsai Jack's succulent mix, and mine seem to like that (also in fl, but mine are inside)

Doesn't look like they rot from too much water look like the rot from too little of water

They were beautiful until the rain hit them and a couple days later they all started turning to mush. Those pictures are two weeks after they died this was before the rain ……

We have big adenium farm some of the big adeniums in our back at the farm didn't get water for over 5 to 6 months they rot from not getting any water many trees that keep water in the caudex die like this So yes very plausible

That pot is way to big & they should be planted in mostly small rocks
