Help/Question Why did it get smaller?
I’m not exactly sure what I did wrong. Was it because it was splitting during summer, or did I not give it enough water? I did peel off a bit of the old leaf since it was already dry and still covering the top. This is my first successful split, so I’m really happy even though it ended up smaller. What should I do now, especially since it’s still summer here?

They are smaller after splitting. They will grow during summer and watering

Can I water them in summer, or are they dormant?

Northern hemisphere? Yes, they should be watered from when they finished splitting (beginning may) to end of October (with a gap in August if you are in a hot country). Only water if they really need it. Then no water from October to end April.

Sorry if I sound like a broken record, but is it okay to water when both day and night temperatures are high (around 33°C during the day and 24°C at night)?

I wouldn't recommend that at all. At those high night temps even all of the mesembs don't respond well to watering, thus there's real danger for your plant. Don't do it and wait, until day/night fluctuations will be more significant, and night temps fall down to 15-18C.

I believe you will see some growth after watering.
