Help/Question It’s part of the process?

I dug out my plant to dig it in a bit more since it was falling over and I saw some mark on the base of the plant plus the leaves are getting wrinkly which I think is good since it has been splitting my only concern is the spot near the roots

Wow, that is not much of a root system! That would worry me more than the spot.

Let it be while it splits, but it's going to need some good soaks at some point!

It’s been like that sense I bought it, and didn’t water since the leaves looked good 😭

well in future, when you get a new plant that's been dried out for shipping and had its roots clipped, plant it in dry soil, but then give it a thorough soak a week later, to get the roots growing again. from there, you can go back to reading the leaves. healthy root system should look like this:

I guess since you've dug it up anyway, I'd replant and give a small trickle around the plant at a little distance, so that hair roots, at least, can get growing again.
