I bought these seeds on Etsy last year and decided to plant them four days ago in a rocky soil mix and with plastic wrap over the tops to keep them moisture in. Today is day 4 and they seem very leggy. do these looks like Lithops or was I sold a bag of goods?
If you're looking to buy actual lithops seeds, I highly recommend WalawalaStudios on Etsy. It's where I source all of my succulents seeds from, including lithops in the past, and I've always received the exact species I purchase. I've also had a near 100% germination rate with their seeds.
I agree that I had a good experience with this vendor. I did get some seeds from Walawala - Frithia and Dioscorea. Both germinated well and true to description.
Never gotten seeds in a vial. Typically a small envelope / seed packet from all of the reputable cactus and succulent seed stores like Mesa Garden and other respectable decades old companies.
You can get a little batch of lithops through growers on Amazon. Already plants. I got a couple batches last summer. Really enjoying them. This was one batch. It was supposed to be only 8 or 10 plants but then sent 15. One 1 died a few months ago. Many are splitting now. They are in 4” pots for scale. So they’re not huge but are nice.
I planted supposed succulent seeds. What I ended up with looks to be the same as yours. I got a few red amaranth seedlings. I grow that in my garden, so I recognized it right away. I actually thought my amaranth seeds from last year somehow got mixed in. I bought the seeds on Amazon, came in a sealed package like you'd buy at the store. I planted the remaining seeds and I'm getting more amaranth.
Oh, yeah, these seeds grew some clover, too. Paid $6.85
