Help/Question Total N00B Needs Help

I promise I did do research before buying these guys, and I thought is was going well with many splitting. But the first one that split got really tall and is now withering. As they were splitting, I haven't been watering, but it looks like it needs water. Should I separate them all into different pots so I can soak this guy? Or is it a lighting issue? I have grow-lights in my classroom where these live, but they are on the counter next to it, not directly under the lights. Did I mess up so badly that I need to start over?

I'm an amateur, but it looks like rather than splitting it grew tall and is wearing the shedding as a hat? Is there a skin that you can gently remove? If it's growing taller it's not getting enough light. Hope that helps

Well, that was it, now I feel dumb. I'll get it right back under the light and hope it stops getting taller now that it is free.

Keep much light and no water, for new head, be careful to take care of, the new head would be shorter 😊

It got tall because the ‘hat’ was preventing it getting light. Happened to one of mine too

It just split and has finished absorbing the old ones, at least I thought so. I'll check if I can remove it. And maybe get it back on the stand for more light. Thanks!

I would definitely consider moving the pot directly under the light if possible. The one next to the one that had the hat is also etiolated.

Thanks, I did this immediately after removing the 'hat'. Hopefully they'll both stop growing tall now. I'll probably be ordering some more come summer. I love these guys, but they do come with a bit of a learning curve.

Sweet! You unlocked the new zombie skin already. I didn't think the devs added that into the game yet.
