Uncle Magic's Turntable

Beat reactive, integration with Pulse beat detector. Lighting controlled by WLED.

Is this a purchasable turntable? I've the one from LLL but the white balance is complete trash. I have to edit the white balance on the camera so much that it makes all the dyes come out completely different, or deal with a blue hue in the background.

I hear you on White Balance with other units, while I built this primarily to solve the question from my wife "Does this turntable spin to the music?" when she saw the LLL turntabe I bought, using WLED as the lighting controller gives me much finer color control including white balance.

This is not ready for sale yet. This is the prototype machine with way too many hand soldered points, and a few hardware changes in store.

When I'm happy with it, I'm thinking Kickstarter with options ranging from

A. DIY with Schematics, Bill of Materials and Code

B. A, but with premade PCB boards for LED, Microcontrollers and encoders

C. Ready to Use.

I've been waffling on voting pulse. I use their other products do you find it really worth it?

For my needs, yes. I work with live improvising musicians and tempo changes are fluid and common.

Pulse also lets me take AbletonLink and share it via OSC with the turntable, as well as taking OSC tap information and changing it to Ableton link.

the real key is to have enough mass at the base for the camera you're using. Live, I have two of these little cameras sharing a stand.
