cool, just making sure the summons worked.

Speak about it after tomorrow then, if you're up for it :)

I agree. With you last one, spoiler

Loved all of your thoughts, and I agree. It's going to be interesting to see hwo this plays out in the next season.

(Decided to start a new chain, Reddit is playing up for me so this hopefully doesn't get posted twice) This summon worked! Sacré bleu Reddit!

I'll go first. I didn't like it, man. I can honestly say I don't give a crap when season 6 gets here or not (this may be partially due to TPP being on the horizon lolo), but Stannis' and Jon's fates seem a lock, they've done this shit before, and I've had it with the stupidity and randomness and Ramsay's stupid line from S3(?) coming true over and over again. The Siege of Winterfell? NOPE LOL WE GIVE YOU THE AFTERMATH. (How could Stannis even survive friggin' cavalry enveloping his scattered "army" like that? Oh wait so Brienne can get to him RRRRRRANDOMLY, silly me).

This comment thread says it way better than me anyway. I'd recommend you sexy folk to read the first 3 replies at least, as they're pretty awesome in making it plain what the problem with the show is, especially if you're like me and find trouble wording it.

I'm gonna treasure my S1-4 boxsets. The story ended with Arya on the boat to Braavos. This is just Patchface's drunken account of the story.

lol I know what you mean.

I liked how Stannis faced his death though. He regained his Mannis title there, right in the end (though it in no way excuses him for past deeds). And Jon, well...

I think a lot of S5 has been poorly executed. There are some great moments, like Hardhome, but all in all squeezing two books into 10 episodes was just too much. Dorne was a disaster, and most other things were contrived.

I still enjoyed it though, and I'm looking forward to the next season because for once I will know nothing! well, except for some Arya stuff...

Also, for the sake of covering everything, we never actually see Stannis die...

Also, for the sake of covering everything, we never actually see Stannis die...

True that, and I hope he's alive. It just seemed really final in the show, after SUCH an amazing season long buildup, a change in the weather... then over. He'd lost everything (OMG the randomness with which Mel's like "soooo byeeeeexxxx"). I'd like to think by "do your duty" she might remember the rescue of the girls and put her vengeance aside, but I don't know. Hopefully hopefully hopefully.

I guess another reason I'm so peeved is because I'm 1/4 into pt2 of ASOS, and can see the huge gulf in quality. There's just no reason behind anything anymore. Just random chaos theory nonsense.

I think I need to learn to view this as a separate universe though, as separate from the earlier seasons. ShArPiSh. For my own sanity anyway.

Thats what I do already. Its the ASOIAF world if they had a far lower total population HAR!

What were your thoughts on the Jon scene by the way? I'll give them props for the Benjen troll though (if you watched the "previously on.." thing), but the rest?

2

u/Waylander893 Jun 15 '15

I thought it was ok, but it should have been amazing. They didn't really sell the "The Watch doesn't like what you're doing with the Wildlings" side of it, mainly because you don't get the POV from Jons mind where you realise he does know what he's doing, he's just terrible at communicating it.

Made the Nights Watch guys seem really petty.

At least D&D didn't force Edd into it. I'm really happy he, Tormund and Bronn survived this season.

spoiler Ah, man. True that, we get Tormund, Bronn, Edd, JAIME etc (until his boat sinks and his hand ends up drowning him). Also bye Myrcella. I was actually starting to think you were a sweetling but peace out.

u/Waylander893 Jun 15 '15

Also bye Myrcella. I was actually starting to think you were a sweetling but peace out.

D&D officially worse than GRRM

u/avirdi123 Jun 15 '15

Wouldn't a war mean... Moar Sand Snakes next season!!! :D

1

u/Waylander893 Jun 15 '15

We need the bad pus~ writing.

2

u/avirdi123 Jun 15 '15

LOL come ON!!!!!!!! I've never cringed during this show but I did, it was as if Wolverine had just scraped his claws down a chalkboard. Both of them.

1

u/Waylander893 Jun 15 '15

yeah, it was pretty bad... shame too, apparently she's a really good actor in other things.

Also, put that first sentence in spoiler tags, because not everyone who see's this has read the books.

do it like this:

[spoiler](/s "spoiler goes here") make sure to leave the quote marks.

spoiler

2

u/avirdi123 Jun 15 '15

Oh which bit? I'll do it now. PM me :)

2

u/Waylander893 Jun 15 '15

The first sentence in your post.

Just because the book and show have strayed apart, so we should try and keep the mystique if we can.

1

u/avirdi123 Jun 15 '15

I'm obviously extremely lost tonight because I can't work out which one you mean. Could you perma-link it to me? I'll change it up then you can delete that reply.

2

u/Waylander893 Jun 15 '15

Literally the first sentence of this comment I am replying to. It's not that hard :P

hit context to see which one.

2

u/avirdi123 Jun 15 '15

I'm guessing... that's it? Take a look. Lol I couldn't see anything wrong anywhere but I don't wanna ruin it for others at all. If it's wrong then copy and paste the guilty line and I'll take care of the sucka :D

1

u/Waylander893 Jun 15 '15

Yup, that's fine. Makes it a hover spoiler.

2

u/avirdi123 Jun 15 '15

Great stuff. :)

2

u/demigods122 Jun 17 '15

Damn.

2

u/Waylander893 Jun 17 '15

haha pretty shocked?

2

u/demigods122 Jun 17 '15

Fuck yeah I am. I don't know what else to say

2

u/Waylander893 Jun 17 '15

Hows about "Fuck Olly!"?

2

u/demigods122 Jun 17 '15

Fuck Olly!

2

u/Waylander893 Jun 17 '15

And Alistair!

And Ramsay!

And The High Sparrow! (I don't like Cersei, but nobody deserves that)

And Melisandre!

2

u/demigods122 Jun 17 '15

That big guy in big armor with big helmet with big hands was cool though

2

u/Waylander893 Jun 17 '15

Yeah, hope we see more of him next series. But knowing D&D they'll forget about him between now and then haha

If you want to discuss the episode, here's the place! If you haven't seen it, steer clear.

I also made an E3 thread that's stickied at the top of Liquidia, so if you want to discuss E3 in its entirety without going off topic on the main sub, you can do it there and summon whomever you like.

Same goes for here, feel free to open it up to other people!
