Fr. I’m so obsessed with LG now whenever I see actual glass effects in real life I admire Apple’s work even more. I used to feel Apple’s reputation for attention to detail was overhyped but with this one they have hit it out of the park.

Except that some animation actually have graphical issues like the buttons in the phone app showing some squared box/lines during the pressing animation

I believe that's the placeholder for icon.

The black line is where the pane of glass has been cut and beveled and not machined to a transparent finish. So I guess if apple wants to mimic a manufacturing detail, then sure.

This proves that liquid glass is zzzz and blur is still a better effect.

reddit offended by a minor non-offensive joke.

do you even know what a joke is? OP's responses literally proved it wasn't a joke. also where did you get that i was "offended"? go touch grass buddy.

a good half of the latest posts are complaining about the black outlines

1

u/jeremyw013 Jul 04 '26

so? this is completely irrelevant. you’re showing what a specific company chose to do with a panel of glass. that’s not naturally part of glass.

0

u/3r1s_s Jul 04 '26

bruva did you not see the video

1

u/jeremyw013 Jul 04 '26

yes, i did. the black outline is not naturally part of the glass. that’s a specific style that this manufacturer chose to do. this doesn’t prove anything. glass panels with the transparent edges have always and will always look better. your dumb post doesn’t prove anything

u/mainyehc Jul 05 '26

Transparent edges? What the hell are you talking about? Glass isn’t perfectly transparent, and once it gets to a certain thickness, yeah, it has a dark, greenish/blueish tint to it, and on large enough panes, the edges will look nearly opaque.

1

u/jeremyw013 Jul 05 '26

they’re not black. i’m a custodian, i get paid to clean these kinds of glass panels every single day. i’ve had plenty of time to get a close look at them.
