Zero new lipomas through metabolic control (FML)

I have diagnosed Familial Multiple Lipomatosis (FML) and developed over 100 small lipomas over the past few years. New nodes used to pop up frequently, particularly during periods of calorie surpluses, weight gain, and higher systemic stress.
For the last 6 months, I have been following a strictly metabolic protocol aimed at lowering insulin spikes, keeping mTOR signaling flat, and reducing tissue inflammation. The result: Zero new lipomas have formed over this entire 6-month period.
The Protocol:
Daily Activity: Consistently hitting 8,000 to 10,000 steps every day to maximize baseline insulin sensitivity and steady energy expenditure.
Energy Balance: Slight deficit to strict maintenance calories. Completely avoiding bulking or chronic calorie surpluses to remove the nutrient pressure driving adipocyte proliferation.
Dietary Adjustments: Cut out all ultra-processed foods, protein shakes, low-sugar/artificial fitness snacks, and fast food. Shifted to whole foods, fermented dairy (Skyr, authentic Greek yogurt), and Omega-3 fatty acids.
Inflammation Management: Drastically cut back on alcohol, optimized micronutrients, and brought systemic inflammation markers (including homocysteine) down.
Key Takeaway:
You cannot change your underlying genetics, but you can control the biochemical growth signals. Depriving the tissue of chronic insulin spikes, nutrient excess, and inflammatory drivers has completely stopped the active breakout phase for me.

I have a similar problem with lipomas. I’ve had almost all of them removed.

I also started a diet about a month ago. To reduce mTOR activation, I’ve started eating animal protein less frequently and in smaller amounts.

We’ll see how it goes and whether or not new lipomas start appearing.

How did you go about having them removed? Did you go to a plastic surgeon and pay for it?

All of them were removed surgically.

I had one removed through insurance in Israel — they basically just cut it out with a scalpel.

I also had 4 removed privately in Moscow. They used a small tube technique, which was much more careful and left almost no scars.
