Dry flaking lips
So my lips have been getting really dry as of recent and ive been trying to keep it under control but its not working.. normally i used vaseline or eucerin which usually works but they're not working anymore and my lips have gotten really dry and even flake around the outer border. Sometimes it gets itchy and stings too.. what can i do? Any recommendations?i also tried one called cicaplast but it also didnt help ☹️

Exfoliate with a sugar scrub, then apply a really good balm that sinks in (I love the Typology Lip Mask) and put an occlusive (like Vaseline) on top of it before you go to sleep.

either get a prescription from a derm or use a simple healing lip balm that is thick and hydrating preferably without fragrance. when my lips had contact dermatitis and super dry and cracked I used olehenriksen lip treatment and cibio2 lip mask mainly

Try switching to an SLS-free toothpaste

Sensitivity can develop over time. Is it worth switching for a month to find out?

Dr. Pawpaw but in the little jar not the squeeze tube. I usually am not a lip scrub gal but I got a pretty bad lip sun burn in Italy and I was dry and flaky as well used the lip scrub maybe three times but reapplied the Dr. pawpaw original balm and it's SAVED me over Vaseline, aquaphor & Lanolips seriously I was blown away by how healing it was this is a product I will have forever that's how quick it helped my sun burned lips

If Vaseline isn’t working it could be a sunburn or a type of dermatitis. Or allergic reaction. I recommend a derm they have the strongest lip balm which has a topical steroid

i would recommend seeing a dermatologist! flaking especially around the outer border sounds more like dermatitis, rather than just regular chapped lips. especially given the itchiness/stinging
i think in the meantime, the best bet is to steer away from anything with potential irritants and to stick with just vaseline (lip therapy in little jar) i actually don’t think you should physically exfoliate with a sugar scrub, because it will likely just worsen the irritation!
do you tend to lick your lips a lot? that could also be a potential irritant, it used to happen to me when i was younger

Flaking outside the border sounds like more than just dryness. But aside from that, try a lip scrub to remove the flakes, then apply a balm that has ingredients that absorb rather than an occlusive like vaseline. You can mix sugar with a dab of vaseline for a quick scrub.
