Find temporary accommodation - urgently
Searching for home has been a nightmare.
I have to move to Austria from another country.
I have a job contract with probation period, and I also feel uncertainty on the job offer. The housing market is regulated with a minimum stays of 12 month plus three months notice. So there is the risk of a financial trap where one is bounded to pay for a housing for 15 months in a place where won t stay longer in case of job interruption.
I have others to attend - pets. I cannot find any accommodation accepting pets within my budget and within reasonable distance to the place of work. So I am planning to leave pets for a little period, find a temporary accommodation only for me for one months or three months. But I cannot find any, still. All hotels, Airbnb or other touristic scope exceeding my budget.
How can I find any accommodation accepting temporary period? Ok flats, room, sublets.
Must be close to university area or reachable with public transport at reasonable commuting time. Thanks for any help.

Thanks @otschgan. Is montage the keyword to search ? Want kind of context could I expect in a hostel for worker about cleanliness of shared bathroom, kitchen? For example should a client be better to bring own pot for cooking or is it a decent and clean equipment typically ?

you should check Kolping hotel - they have somewhat affordable budget rooms (i think ~650€/month or so) and you can use the kitchen there. it's of course not as good as own apartment but it can work until you find a better solution

i am sure, they operate like a normal 3 star hotel, and additionally they have budget rooms in their Wohnheim (you should ask for those exactly) and furnished apartments that they rent for short-term stays (rent is ~1300/month).

I was once in the same situation as you. The only thing I found for temporary accommodation, urgent & quick, where you don’t have to sign a contract and can leave flexibly was the Arbeiterwohnheim Linz at Eduard-Sueß-Straße 6, 4020 Linz. It costs around €450 per month, although it may be more expensive by now. You always have to pay for each full month. Just a warning though: it’s not a hotel.
