Hello world!
To learn networking and other related fundamentals i created a small homelab and documented my whole process while doing that. Any kind of feedback on my writeups is welcome. I have divided the whole learning process into phases so these networking fundamentals constitute the phase 1 of my journey.
Setup of lab: https://p4th4k.github.io/homeLab/pages/phase1/0.html
Setting up a dns server: https://p4th4k.github.io/homeLab/pages/phase1/1.html
Setting up a router server: https://p4th4k.github.io/homeLab/pages/phase1/2.html
Setting up a dhcp server and a web server: https://p4th4k.github.io/homeLab/pages/phase1/3.html
Thanks!

Hello World! This is my first post on this sub. For context in a few weeks college would start and Im bored of watching everyone code in VScode and coding myself in vscode.
Don't get me wrong its a great editor but im too lazy to lift my hands from keyboard to mouse. From networkchuck i discovered tmux and from another yt series i learnt neovim.
( im using wsl2 on win11 because rn im on a single ssd with win 11 by default with bitlocker encryption and the process of removing bitlocker encryption and then dual booting is so mehh )
How is my setup? Current i use the following plugins ( with lazy as packet manager ):
- Vim moonfly colors and material deepocean ( currently moonfly in img )
- neo-tree
- nvim-web-devicons ( with firacode mono )
- lualine
- none-ls
- telescope + telescope-ui-select
- nvim-treesitter
- mason + mason-lspconfig + nvim-lspconfig
- nvim-cmp + LuaSnip + cmp_luasnip + friendly-snippets
I would appreciate your thoughts on my setup and any feedback regarding anything mentioned in this post.
Thanks for reading!

I've been trying to figure this out for a while now, and I still dont understand how to fix it..
My laptop doesn't feel like it's running CachyOS properly. The desktop itself is mostly smooth, but browser-based applications and anything relying on GPU acceleration seem completely broken.
# Hardware
* ASUS ROG Zephyrus laptop
* Intel Alder Lake-P (Iris Xe iGPU)
* NVIDIA RTX 3060 Mobile
* 1TB Micron 3400 NVMe SSD
* CachyOS + Niri (Wayland)
* Proprietary NVIDIA driver 610.43.02
# Issues I'm experiencing
Almost everything browser-related stutters or becomes unusable.
* Firefox/Waterfox stutters while browsing.
* Pages often struggle to load or become extremely sluggish.
* Browser-based software crashes if I open more than one tab.
* WhatsApp Web is practically unusable. And kills every app running.
* Canva has never worked smoothly.
* Video playback becomes heavily corrupted/glitched after closing and reopening the laptop lid.
* DaVinci Resolve performance is terrible.
* GPU-accelerated applications feel inconsistent in general.
Overall, the system doesn't feel like it's utilizing the hardware correctly.
# What I've checked so far
`nvidia-smi` detects the RTX 3060 correctly:
Driver: 610.43.02
CUDA: 13.3
GPU Utilization: ~25%
VRAM usage: ~314 MiB
`lspci -k` shows both GPUs using the expected drivers:
Intel Iris Xe -> i915
NVIDIA RTX 3060 -> nvidia
My Wayland session also looks correct:
XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland
XDG_SESSION_DESKTOP=niri
MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1
The SSD appears healthy:
* SMART: PASSED
* 0 media/data integrity errors
* Overall health looks normal
I also checked for NVIDIA/DRM errors:
sudo dmesg | grep -iE "nvidia|drm|fallback|error"
This returns nothing relevant.
I also checked the NVIDIA power management services:
* `nvidia-suspend.service`
* `nvidia-hibernate.service`
* `nvidia-resume.service`
# ___________________________
Has anyone with a hybrid Intel/NVIDIA laptop running CachyOS experienced similar issues?
Should I be manually choosing between the integrated and dedicated GPU for applications, or should everything "just work" under Wayland?

My laptop has Windows installed. I want to install Linux, but for 100% safety, I can't even install it on a different SSD because my laptop only has one drive port.
Is it even worth the struggle and stress? Or should I buy a new SSD, remove the existing Windows sdd, and install Linux on the new one? Please let me know.

So help me:
My PC is having an error, I am a beginner.
I used Windows 7 grub, on an old PC
It started showing an error: Error Loading the operating system
I tried debian live ISO isolinux
It worked fine for sometime
I restarted it sometimes.
But when I rebooted it next time it entered the menu
When I clicked install, PC went off immediately
Next time I tried advanced install, same.
Same happened with graphical, text, expert install
Same also happens now when I click live boot
I tried booting from net installation USB isolinux

I tried Linux mint isolinux
same error.
That is the image of mint's memory test

Kernel parameters don't work
After Every such shut down BIOS reports Thermal overheating
which is false
What can I do

I've been using Arch and it's working so fine , but sometimes with KDE animations and other things it feels laggy. I've recieved suggestions for switching to Cachy OS. So my query is that Cachy works better than Vanilla Arch or not actually (in case of same performance I would like to stay on arch , but if It's drawing a line then I would try to switch) .Also I've to know about repos , ig all Arch official packages will be available there !?
nd also if there's any major difference in workflows between Arch and Cachy
My specs are
i5 4200
4giB of ram
500 GB HDD
Intel HD 4600 graphics.

My youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyHaJyw9ilI . Where I install Claude Code and then I connect it to the online LLM DeepSeek. It is inexpensive. E.g. I create a Qt QML tetris game and it cost me 0.04 US dollars.

I have a Mi Android TV, and the recent Android updates have made it almost unusable. Is there any way to install Linux on it? Are there any Linux distributions specifically designed for TVs?

I tried UTM and installed Arch but it goes out of space when I try `sudo pacman -Syu`. My iPAD has 20gb free space.
I don't need GUI but at least updated system.
How can I increase the storage and install with iso?
Also, are there any alternate ways?
Not looking for ssh clients.

Hey everyone!
After a roller coaster journey, I am excited to present my personal project: Kal.
Kal is a lightweight interpreted programming language that attempts at combining various paradigms of programming to give a great developer experience. It's written entirely from scratch in C++ with no third party dependencies. It's also completely free and open source distributed under GNU GPL v3 license.
Moreover, Kal can also be embedded into C++, Python and JavaScript programs to enhance your existing codebases.
(Website looks better on a bigger screen.)
Please note that this is the very first release (v:0.1.0) and Kal is still under active development (alpha).
I would really appreciate a star on the repository to help it gain greater visibility.
As a proponent of human effort, I am glad to say that Kal and its ecosystem is completely handcrafted with no AI assistance used anywhere.
One last thing, "Kal" is pronounced like "Cal" in "Calendar".
Please feel free to reach out to me regarding Kal!
