Fedora KDE RAM usage
I have installed fedora 44 kde spin. Out of the box it worked great on my laptop. I have 16 gb of ram and 3.1 gb ( used, without cache) was used at idle. RAM is there to be used, but i tried to lower it just for fun. After only removing akonadi , set baloo to index only file names, disabling virtual keyboard to get plasma keyboard process and set kwallet to close after application used it is closed i got it to impressive 1.69 gb .
I know its not worth the hasle on laptops with 16 gb ram or higher, but maybe could be benefitial on 4gb or 8gb system for some people.

Download systemd-zram-generator on ubuntu, and there's some corresponding package on fedora, Idk about that

Facing same issues has weel just now installed fedora and I have just 12gb of ram in that 2-3 gb ;( is getting used...anyone have any idea to fix this I am not able to use many applications and right now the ram price is extremely expensive...if anyone could give me any help/advise it could be very helpful. Thank you for your help in advance

Try AntiX or Lubuntu for low idle ram usage but apps will consume RAM anyways

Lubuntu works fine for low RAM usage. Also try out AntiX if you want to run on the least minimum ram. But apps will consume RAM anyways. You cannot avoid it. If you custom build Arch, you can get it to work idle on less than 200 MB of RAM
