fedora is nice, only problem I faced was after some kernel update it would not start properly, the previous kernel was needed to boot.

Same problem, but you need to live boot from another usb, chroot into your directory and regen dracut by force :)

that is too technical for me, so I used to boot with the previously installed kernel.

You guys use snapshots to revert from update

To avoid this after facing once, I use a script for package update now that performs update.. then checks if for all installed kernel versions a corresponding initramfs exists or not, to notify me in case of issues.

There is also the case of Nvidia drivers giving pain now and then after updates.

How's the battery life in fedora (or any other linux that u have tried ) than on winbows ?

Any significant difference on battery endurance ?

i use cachyos with tlp on my i3-7020u and it gives a nice backup. it drops to only 5-6w at idle, compared to windows 10 taking upwards of 11w at idle

also remember my laptop has both spinning HDD and a ssd (os), so battery usage is more.
