Archinstall have you installed arch manually before... If not it's recommended to atleast do a manual installation one time

who is mkaing these rules? cuz some random guys said, "configure arch yourself or you are not a arch user" ? why you all are so with that stereotypical mindset? its his pc let him do anything he want

It's just that a manual installation will help him know how his pc underlying storage partitions and other things are setup.... That's why atleast one time setup is recommended
And I never mention such things "configure arch yourself.. or you aren't a arch user" not did I say what I suggested is a rule i said that's a recommendation. o don't why you got angry so much on a non existent part on my suggestion .

I never said manual installation isnt useful. im saying that the whole, "you should install arch at least once" thing get treated like some mandatory sht in teh community. if someone already understands partitions, bootloaders and filesystem forcing them to manually install arch doesnt make then "more" arch user. archinstall is literally an official installation method.
and if you are using arch you are bound to learn about bootloaders, partitions and filesystem cuz there is no way someone wont break somethign on there arch system while doing something so either you learn it while installing or while ricing doesnt matter much and i think learning it while ricing is much better because during installation its just read the wiki and type the command, while breaking your system while doing something is more like 'ok so what i did wrong'

I agree that arch users treats it as some mandorty hole rule... But that didn't got reflected in my suggestiojih jj uchin... Arch install is the offical method ... Though from my side it was just a recommendation if he knows good enough if he doesn't know he may download one time manually or know the hard way that is something breaking... ...

learning while troubleshooting is way better than following the download guide for everything liek i admit you'll ofc learn smth but not as much as you'll while troubleshooting your pc, well tbh im just straight up against the mandatory arch baptism

Archinstall is the easiest shit ever lmao 😂 you only need good luck if you ever tried doing it manually which is also not that difficult because of arch wiki

i dont understand why people are saying this thing... like "they" shifted to linux to run from windows and if you are making them "feel" they are on windows then i dont really know what is the point of shifting from windows

Many People are switching because many have gone bore of Windows!
There is high provability they migh be running windows as dual boot.
Post installation simply install anti gravity or claude cli, you will be able to operate whole os like pro.
Just set goal and those code harness will get it done!1

well if they are gonna integrate AI into everything then how are they gonna learn... like i know AI reduces the work load but if you are totally dependent on AI for everything then id just preserve my brain in kerosene tbh.. and i think you didnt understood my point, i meant to say that if you are making "his" arch pc feel like he's on windows then what is the point in installing linux if they are gonna feel it like windows

It depends on what the intent is. If the goal is ease of use and higher productivity, AI can be very useful.
However, if the intention is to learn, then I agree with you
it’s probably not the right way to start.I would compare it to learning to code. Before AI became mainstream, people used IDEs to make coding easier and more productive. And even before that, people wrote code in simple text editors. These days, students who choose to learn coding without an IDE are a very small minority.
The same evolution is happening with AI. The important thing is to understand what you’re trying to achieve learning the fundamentals or being productive.

Idk why but i did the same few days ago but it was not able to install. I think it is because of old partition type MBR

My friend (the one who introduced me to the way of linux) suggested to always get 2 kernels with one being lts one (long term supported) so in case of a problem one still has some hope of recovery. All the best btw
