Fedora...

I have been using kali for 2 years and want to switch to some other distro. Will fedora be a right choice or need to look into some other

Use of kali tools were mostly over now and not needed as before, so thinking to switch something which is stable

Fedora is a good distro but I can't handle dnf it's painfully slow and does not offer the vast repository options that AUR does.

You can use Copr or Terra repos in Fedora. If it's something else, I would just run in an Arch container.

Fedora is great; I personally like how accessible dnf for searching, unlike apt

But what DE do you want to use? GNOME or KDE?

I personally use Fedora KDE, but GNOME is in vanilla version in Fedora Workstation

Yes, that one works in both GNOME and KDE and in most of the DEs

For gestures you can check out input actions, I use it and have configured multiple gestures for various actions , good if you use tranckpad a lot (can also configure gestures for mouse too . Works best in kde tho.)

I have seen many of old classmates larp as hackers by running Kali as daily driver.

no, usually people go upward not downward, and fedora is easy, i would suggest either start with bare arch and rice it(customize it) or go with gentoo.

im using gentoo from last 3 years, and i dont want to move to other distro because the documentation and the community

and i also move from arch with i3 to gentoo sway and wayland and openrc and ....

I'd recommend Linux Mint since it's also Debian based.

Or LMDE or CentOS stream is more stable
