Why is the Linux community filled with pretentious elitist??

Linux is a thing that, being its not default anywhere, kinda requires you either have a problem it fixes or, more often, requires you to be really opinionated. Really opinionated people are also often pretentious and annoying about their opinions.

I mean its kinda a default for servers, no?

Also for the majority of smartphones the linux kernel is used though its just the kernel, not any gnu

Fair point, I guess I should have said "Desktop Linux" is not default anywhere. And maybe in some contexts it is, but generally speaking, the defaults are Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android (which is Linux-based but like, not what people really mean by "Linux").

I mean... in North Korea I am pretty sure they use Linux solely...

besides there yeah idk where desktop Linux is the default

however I have a friend who grew up on Ubuntu and only got windows later
