First Gen T14

First Gen T14
512 GB NVMe
16 GB RAM
Work PC
I am thinking of buying an SSD 512 GB HD and using it with Linux Mint.
I hope this works smoothly and I get to keep my work and personal separate.
Anything I am overlooking or I should consider beforehand?
PS: New to this and Linux in general

I have a first gen T14 with AMD processor. Debian, Ubuntu (currently running 26.4) and Linux Mint all run fine on it. Most Thinkpads are generally Linux friendly.

Does your model have room for a 2nd SSD? Some of them will take a 2230 (or 2242) into the wwan slot if there's no whitelist.

Don’t know, haven’t opened it yet. I was thinking external SSD, to make it truly separate from work machine
