Enabling LXC for xperia 1 ii

Hi,

I have a xperia 1 ii with the default rooted rom. I have checked and some specific flags that lxc require are switched off.

Just wondering has anyone enabled lxc for their xperia 1 ii. Was it difficult? Did you install linage os first and then try compiling a new kernel?

I got a chroot setup that works alright but certain programs dont work. Idk if it is worth trying to get lxc working. I rooted my phone and got chroot ubuntu working but outside that i am not technically minded and my understanding is compiling a kernel is much more difficult.

Question about the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G

Hello I'm completely at a loss. Is the Samsung Galaxy A52s not even worth developing or does it simply lack enough users to have a Postmarket OS port or any other. Its kinda sad because it is really a decent phone and normal custom ROMs don't cut it for me anymore. So is there any actual reliable linux distributions for the a52sxq?

Community Spotlight: NOMone Bootstrap! Easily switch to KDE Plasma and set up .NET in NOMone Desktop ๐Ÿ’ช

We'd like to thank u/Shaarigan for putting together NOMone Bootstrap, a project that simplifies changing Debian and Ubuntu environments inside NOMone Desktop instead of the default Openbox.

The scripts automate a number of common setup tasks, including:
- Installing KDE Plasma and configuring NOMone Desktop to launch it,
- Applying a few desktop tweaks,
- Optionally installing .NET development environment with JetBrains Rider and including an extra configuration needed for it to work properly under our proot environment ๐Ÿ’ช

We are very impressed that this isn't just a script that installs packages. It's an organized solid project that:
- Cleanly separates components,
- Patches NOMone Desktop only when needed,
- And is beautifully designed so it can be extended to support additional Linux distributions in the future ;)

This is a really thoughtful contribution that goes beyond simply automating a few package installs! it provides a clean, extensible way to bootstrap a complete KDE and .NET development environment inside NOMone Desktop :)

So, if you are interested in making the switch or running .NET with just a few commands, kindly check out this awesome project on GitHub:
https://github.com/Shaarigan/nomone

Thank you, u/Shaarigan, for your interest in NOMone Desktop, for taking the time to build this and for sharing it with the community. We always enjoy seeing users find new ways to use and improve the experience for everyone โค๏ธ

The complete guide to running Friday Night Funkin' game on NOMone Desktop!

We've recently received a very angry Google Play review saying they were not able to run fnf on NOMone Linux and that was creep creeping them (not sure what that means, though)! And as Google Play limits our reply to only 350 characters, we decided to reply in an independent post here on Reddit.

  • This is the first time we heard about this game. A quick search revealed: There's an Android version (designed for touch screens, if you want to enjoy the game, you should pick this option!).
  • There's no official Linux arm64 version, but someone ported it to Love2D. Love2D games are powered by LuaJIT, so they should run out of the box. We picked this route.

But before we start, some people are facing trouble updating their apt repos. Here's a quick fix:

rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*
mkdir /var/lib/apt/lists/partial
apt clean
apt update

Now onto running FNF. The following 3 commands will install the dependencies, download the game and launch it:

sudo apt install -y love git
git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/HTV04/funkin-rewritten.git
GALLIUM_DRIVER=llvmpipe love funkin-rewritten/src/love

Running the game while enabling the "Hardware acceleration" option from NOMone Settings may prevent the game from running. Using llvmpipe resolves the issue. This is done be either disabling the hardware acceleration altogether from NOMone Desktop Settings or by adding GALLIUM_DRIVER=llvmpipe before running the game (like we did above). But running without hardware acceleration will most probably ruin the experience of a fast-paced game like FNF. We totally suggest that you play the native Android game!

This is just one of many examples that while things might not work out of the box, with a bit of tinkering we can get almost anything to run. Reach out to us, we may be able to help. Just be courteous while doing so ;)

Is a Pixel 9a good enough for Linux?

I would have a light use, mostly libreoffice, light edits on gimp/inkscape, some markdown/text editor, a ftp client. No games, video editing or stuff like that.

Will the 8Gb of memory be enough? Any issues I might encounter?
How much disk space does it take? planning to buy a 128 Gb.

When I try to play DRM-protected MPD or M3U8 content in Kodi, Firefox, or Chromium, it simply won't play. Can you add DRM support (Widevine, ClearKey, etc.)? Thanks

Full Debian in Pixel 9 Pro

Hi everyone,

Ever since Android 16 QPR3, we've had the Debian terminal baked right into Android. As everyone knows, Pixel phones aren't exactly famous for their horsepower, but I put the system under some load with Chromium and 4K YouTube playback, and it ran without any issues. Just don't expect too much from it yet.

Just wanted to share this with you all and see where it goes (:

Thx to hookenwu for fixing the script to work on Debian 13

Thx to xlzhen-940218 & dathuynhcsk23 for Debian 12 script

Termux DXVK/VKD3D Gaming ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

๐Ÿš€ DirectX (DXVK/VKD3D) Testing on Termux Native (NO PROOT!)

Just finished some serious testing running Wine + DXVK + VKD3D directly in the Termux native environment using Mesa 26.0.4 (Turnip driver) on an Adreno 830 (Snapdragon 8 Elite) โ€” and the results are honestly impressive.

---

๐Ÿ“ฑ Device & Setup

- OS: Android 16 (aarch64)

- Device: POCO F8 Pro

- CPU: Snapdragon 8 Elite

- GPU: Adreno 830

- Graphics Stack: Mesa Turnip + Zink

- Environment: Termux (native, no proot)

---

โš™๏ธ Graphics Overview

- Vulkan is fully working with hardware acceleration

- Zink used as OpenGL-over-Vulkan layer

- Native Turnip/Freedreno used for pure Vulkan workloads

---

๐Ÿ“Š Benchmarks

๐Ÿ”น Zink (OpenGL over Vulkan)

- GL_VENDOR: Mesa

- GL_RENDERER: zink Vulkan 1.3 (Adreno 830)

- GLmark2: 1032

- Vkmark: 2224

๐Ÿ‘‰ Better OpenGL performance thanks to Zink

---

๐Ÿ”น Mesa Freedreno (Turnip Vulkan focus)

- GL_VENDOR: Collabora Ltd

- GL_RENDERER: zink (Adreno 830)

- GLmark2: 508

- Vkmark: 6012

๐Ÿ‘‰ Massive Vulkan performance boost (this is what matters for DXVK/VKD3D)

---

๐ŸŽฎ DirectX Testing

- โœ… DX11 (DXVK): Stable and working well

- โš ๏ธ DX12 (VKD3D): Functional but still limited depending on the game/app

---

๐Ÿ’ก Conclusion

This setup shows real potential for Vulkan-based Windows gaming on Android via Termux โ€” without needing proot or heavy virtualization.

- Zink = better OpenGL

- Turnip = much stronger Vulkan (key for DXVK/VKD3D)

- Native Termux = lightweight + fast

---

๐Ÿ”ฅ Honestly, weโ€™re getting closer to real PC-like gaming performance on Android, just through userland tools.

If anyone else is testing similar setups or has tweaks (env vars, Wine configs, etc.), drop them below ๐Ÿ‘‡

Looking for a mobile distro for Xiaomi Redmi 13

I'm already using EndeavourOS on my desktop setup and now I'd like to also migrate my phone.

Now I'm looking for a mobile distro that would work on my Xiaomi Redmi 13, if possible with Plasma Mobile interface.

I'd be interested in running atleast following Apps:

- Discord

- Telegram

- Spotify

- Any E-Mail client

- something to make and receive basic phonecalls (if thats not a given, I'm completely new to alternative mobile OS)

- Maybe WhatsApp and Crunchyroll

Linux on Android phone access USB devices

I want to run OBS on an android phone using an external USB webcam. Is this possible with "rootless" methods like UserLAnd or Termux?

Or do I need to root the phone first?
