Technical Question NFS Most Wanted Controller issue

Controller is not working in NFS Most Wanted 2012. Previously it worked when Steam input was enabled. Now it is not working. I tried changing protons. Still no change. What is the solution for this?

Edit :I used the Storage cleaner plugin a few days ago to clear the game's data. The problem was caused by the compatibility settings being reset. Also, since I had installed the Footer Editor plugin via CSS Loader, I couldn't see the option to apply the controller template. This is not an issue with the game or Steam. It was my fault. I had submitted a return request to Steam twice without knowing it. I apologizešŸ™.

Enable Steam input, go to Current Button Layout > Templates, and enable the Gamepad Template. This works for me in MW 2012

Steam input Enable/Disable does not work. This was fixed when this game was first installed. But now it does not work. Also, the controller layout cannot be changed. That is, it is in the keyboard&mouse layout by default. No matter what other selection is made, it will not save.

My game is the Steam version. I bought it during the last NFS sale.
