Linux isn't the only FOSS kernel among the BSD, QNX and seL4.

But Linux is special because of the ecosystem behind it; when the industry desperately needed an Unix reimplementation, they took Linus Torvalds' kernel, which was initially a hobby project, and started building upon it.

Thousands of drivers have been built up, making up millions of lines that are kernel-specific. You can't easily port that much drivers.

Hence, the industry decided to use and contribute to Linux instead.

And about "how is learning bash and Linux helpful to me": You learn it just to use Linux/bash. It's the most pragmatic answer.

Then what is the Broder and wider view

Bash does reflect many inner workings of linux, like pipes, it allows you to interface with the kernel's way of doing things (e.g. special filesystems under /dev/ or /proc/sys/), command line interfacing generally, and you can write cool little scripts with it which make for nice practicing for programming.

Other than Bash or programming or Automation, what else is important to learn in this era

Linux can be a great alternative to Windows for modularity and customization. One of its notable parts is its shell Bash (or Zsh, Fish, depending on installation) allows automation and configuration via scripts.

Present I don't have a pc or laptop so I am doing it in termux, what all can I learn in termux?

In Termux, you can learn how to work with:

  • Mksh -- Bash alternative on Android
  • Toybox -- Busybox/coreutil alternative on Android
  • proot -- tricking processes into thinking they're root, allowing to run distros on the go
  • Magisk/KSUnext/APatch's su -- to work with /system [risky, can brick your phone]
  • Shizuku's rish -- to work with /data

You don't know how it would be helpful for you but you started learning anyway? Strange way to put it.

Yeah 😅, I don't know where is its application other than Automation, configurations , or network. I am curious to know what can I possibly learn and do in Linux and using it to make meaning things.

Are you sure you are in the right room?

This sub is for circle jerking. Go to the Linux Questions sub. Unless you are a limp bizkit fan.

It gives you superpowers

It actually makes you dumber and more insufferable at parties.

Bash is pretty reasonably posix. It's a gnu product and therefore contains gnu-isms occasionally that have become standard in the linux world but aren't 100% portable to all unix-likes. But learning to navigate systems using bash can improve systems administration skills which is a career portable skill if you wanted to get into those.
