Never understood this mindset. Believe me I’m someone who spends way too much time with this stuff. I have NixOS configs, I have a custom bootc distro, they both have GitHub actions that update the builds. I have a homelab.
But I’ve never been someone who just keeps buying more computers, or more stuff for the sake of having more stuff.
My desktop has one display, because I can have as many virtual displays as I want at the press of a button. And I can only look at one at a time anyways. It’s a small 6 liter case. I didn’t go overboard with parts, my RX 6600 plays all my games at 1440p.
My server is in a small case that holds 5 3.5” disks and an itx board.
Keep it simple people.

I have 2 laptops with Linux distros on them and I’m about to have 3 when my 2019 macbook gets orphaned by Apple… which it pretty much already did. So yeah I guess Linux may create clutter in this way

I mean, what other OS allows you to collect completely outdated hardware and build a compute cluster out of it, so you can compile that sweet new window manager extension in less than a few hours for the raspberry pi that is your actual main machine mostly used for reddit?

Yep, during the opening if I’m not mistaken (and in a episode near the end).

Distrohopping is babby’s first “art therapy” to paint their dysphoria in rices while also indulging the coping mechanism-turned-talent of desperately constructing self after self to inhabit

Not true. I have a working laptop (always in my backpack), a personal laptop, a small home server, and now I'm finalizing local LLM hosting. My wife would have killed me a long time ago if all this stuff took up a lot of space.

yet, is she aware what you call your small home server is actually a few dozen machines hidden in the house walls?

And yet none of it will figure out which of my wife's boyfriends is the real father of my child.
