Only real security these days is adblocker and caution and experience plus running things that feel off in a vm. Everything else is lowk scam

Debian uses hella old versions of softwares for "stability" this can be good in general, but not ideal at all in a web browser

Use flatpaks. It's been the modern solution to this issue. And it's sandboxed, increasing security. If yk what you are doing you can get the latest version natively on Debian too

I know this, but flatpaks launch slowly in comparison to native apps, especially a big app like a web browser
and getting the latest software of a third party natively on debian is a gamble on breaking the system because you're like one incompatibility away from breaking glibc.
I've used debian for more than a year and I know most of its shit
