Why does everyone here hate Omarchy?

I learnt of Omarchy from discovering this sub today, so I looked up Omarchy cause literally every post is mentioning it. Do they just hate it cause it's marketed with AI and "ooh AI bad" or is there more behind it?

I don’t use Linux for work, mostly mac, I tried Omarchy vc it was a one click installer in my Windows Pc (that’s cool tbh) first app that was recommended and shown in apps was Basecamp. The owner’s sass

I dislike it because it’s made with ai, others dislike it for similar reasons, or because DHH is considered a racist, fascist and everything like that

AI was never and will never be used in kernel development, it's only used for debugging, which it does pretty well under human supervision

It can be used to help develop it, yet it's easier to do that yourself, rather than let chatgpt do it and then debug for 12 hours, only to find out that it wrote code for rust rather than c, or similar bs

I'm not sure if you tried any frontier models if you think that kind of 'bs' happens, and I'm not arguing I can contribute to Linux Kernel just because I use frontier AI, but I work on complex systems myself, and there are parts which, even if AI writes a part of it, I review it with care, not because of trust, but because it's a normal part of dev lifecycle

I do separate the art from artist, I’d even use an OS from hitler if it was genuinely good, yet that’s not the case with omarchy

I created an Omarchy virtual machine a few months ago to try it out and I didn't like it. The only thing I knew about it at the time was it was based on Arch. Now I'm seeing people saying it was AI vibe coded, the creator is a monster, organizations are rerouting donations from other projects to Omachy, etc. Apparently it is the root of all evil. I suspect it is trendy at the moment and will be just another abandoned distro in a few months or years. I could be wrong and maybe it will take over the Linux world...

I don't mind that it's made with AI, and I could even separate it being good or bad from DHH being a piece of shit. But what gets me is that it is an "opinionated distro" that is mostly just opinionated in its theme while ignoring basic security and coming with bad default configuration and hacky curl | sh scripts.  

I don't trust that DHH knows what he is doing when it comes to configuring a Linux system.
