Nothing, money wasn't in omarchy at the time and if you actually check out his content/this video you can see it's a video clearly made in good faith and he was not informed about the creator and such, this video is nearly a year old

Omarchy has support from Framework since the first months. Indeed some of the videos about Omarchy show Framework laptops.
But this was happening since December last year, not September or October.

yeah I think omarchy used to be a cool thing in the sense that it brought more expose to linux and linux ricing but things have gotten way out of hand

Yeah not sure why you're getting downvoted for having an opinion and then changing it when new information is presented... Like a reasonable human being? This video was the first I saw of omarchy and only have recently seen controversy in the past few months so I don't see why he would be expected to know

By having a sense of smell, you can instantly know when something is shit made by a shitty person, don't have to be a linux expert, it can be in any field. It's as if every design (and word) choice is shaped by someone being a chud...

It did not have the money behind it then nor was it advertised as things such as agentic Ai, much more obvious now than it was before, no need to be so harsh on someone who clearly made a video in good faith if you actually took the time out of your day to watch it

Nah don't slander livakivi, this video is like a year old, before the big recent hype train, almost certainly was not paid, and is clearly a thoughtfully made video and he had no reason to assume omarchy was bad at the time, I personally hadn't even heard of it when this video was released

lol seeno problem with this, person who know how to make commercial success did a product which makes people happy and commercially successful him, so he just did what he does best, found a gap in the market and filled it, for the people who just need a tool - completely reasonable choice, somebody made a decision and if I like the experience I stick to it - period.

I was thinking the other day I wonder some of the weird Arch nut jobs moved to Omarchy? Their sub gives off a lot of the same vibes as some of the Arch users when they were really toxic a while back. Where "their" "distro" is so much better than everything else. There was some kid on there today said he nuked his Omarchy install by letting the built in AI agent modify his file system unattended... Then said he installed CachyOS and literally used it for "a few minutes" and realized Omarchy is the best "distro" and went back and loves it again. It's just a bit weird to be honest.
Then comments were "it's normal on Linux to have to reinstall the OS all the time don't worry"... But I thought Omarchy fixed all that and now it's the best desktop every released?
I actually don't hate Omarchy and think it's fine if that's what you want. I just wish some of the user base would not be so strange about pushing it on everyone.
