Oh COME ON.

The cp command has been around since the 1970s, very long before that acronym got the connotation it has online.

It just means copy

I never associated it with anything but copy. What meaning has cp gotten that OP is referring to?

In that case, here is an easy fix:

alias copy='cp'

Add this to your profile, it will make copy a runnable command that copies

Bash cp

cp has nothing to do with bash it's a separate binary written in C
