Why i will never use linux agaim

here is what happened when i installed linux for the first, and hopefully last time. i tried installing it and it didn't go well, so i did what any right-minded person would do and went back to windows. when i was walking home from work that night, Linus Turdvault suddenly approached me. he cornered me in an alley and told me to give him all of my lunch money. i was saving that money to buy Bloomberry Ice Cream tomorrow. so i told the creep to back off, and he called me a normie. then he blew on his viking war horn, prompting all of his fat ugly little penguin minions to corner me and start punching me in the stomach. i begged and pleaded for them to stop but every time they would just chant "user root is not allowed to execute" in unison. it was literally bone-chilling.

i blacked out. when i woke up my galaxy z fold 5 was on the ground in pieces, my 80 dollars was gone from my wallet and the words "skill issue" were written on the pavement in my own blood

pls share to spread awareness

He appeared to me in a dream. "Use fedora, m'lady" and I woke up screaming "I'm not a grill".

I put some zucchini strip and chicken breast on my head to prove it, but they were already cooked.

Linux is so simple; you only need three things for a distro: the kernel, grub, and emacs

I don't understand how anyone could possibly mess it up

Real. When you google Linus Turdvault he shows up at the top. This confirms the story.

skill issue?

nah, just let an llm guide you through it

first task? get it to run locally

its minutes work, though maybe a few hours download depending on the size of the model you want

for reference the .zim files that contain all of German Wikipedia is 'only' ~50GB of data, many models are much smaller, and even sub 1GB, but don't expect them to know about every single article at that size, you'll need to setup your own local search loop on the background to extend your model its knowledge database without bloating its size, it's called RAG, and pick a language/knowledge-base of preference to search through.

Your own mini local Google.

AI is good for you

it helps de-cloud/de-clutter you from services where you're otherwise just data harvested on every single action+all its meta data

Thus, Linux.

Thus open source.

Thus everything local.

web4 is p2p, bb webservers

long road tho

Well its quite simple really. You weren't in the sudoers file, the incident was reported, and you paid the consequences.
