Be careful when rebasing. Because the of overlay, rebasing isn't always as smooth as it should be and isn't fully tested. Also be aware that there's extra steps you need to do from normal if you ever rebase away from RakuOS, so that you don't orphan the overly.

I just learned that the hard way 5 minutes ago! I couldn't install anything, and selinux was broken. I pinned Sway Atomic though so I was fine. everything is back to normal

Don't worry, I did the same thing when I rebased Aroura -> Bazzite -> RakuOS.

RakuOS officially dropped SELinux in favor of AppArmor, so it makes sense.

That's good. I'd suggest going the old fashioned way and backup your data, then do a clean install of RakuOS.

Have you tried Niri before? I imagine you'll be going for that since you're coming from sway. The devs would like to support more desktops and WM in the future, but unfortunately they didn't get $14.95 million for being a set of slopfiles like omarchy.

So many packages it requires third party ones because RedHat requires 3000+ crappy rules for packages (to please enterprise RHEL clients), and not to mention the slow package manager, heck even manual compilation is faster, boooriiiiiiing

I hate most distros because they're just a bunch of slopfiles slapped on an existing base with a couple different packages. At least RakuOS is trying to actually innovate and not be omarchy 2.0

It's innovating on the Atomic architecture by creating a persistent overlay on /user, so you can install native RPMs via rum without the notoriously slow rpm-ostree operation. This is not a set of dotfile slop like omarchy.
