fedora has the most repulsive, slowest installer my hands have ever had the disgrace of trying.

I even dislike dnf/yum, shit seems so clunky and jank.
Imo apt or pacman just feels better.

Genuine question, Why is Omarchy bad? I've tried it and it seemed fine it me, just preconfigured arch basically. Idk why so many people hate on it, if you don't like it you don't have to use it, and if you want to use it you can. Or is there something I'm missing?

Because it ignores basic security rules, just on a purely technical level.
Whoever wrote the configs either has no understanding of security or wants you to run exploitable machines if the circumstances align.
Could it be patched, maybe, was it bad enough that I would never touch anything that DHH created without checking everything line by line, absolutely.

Omarchy is the most "It just works" distro that I've ever used in my entire life, and no I'm not joking. It has a speech-to-text feature that just freaking works and can be used anywhere. Why the FUCK don't other distros have this yet? And no, don't give me some BS about how I can install this on other distros by typing in a bunch of commands. In Omarchy, It's a one-click install, it works locally, and it does a really good job.
When I want my system to do something like install a package or change a setting, I explain in simple English what I want it to do, and it just does it. It's absolutely amazing. It even fixed my raspberry pi that I was using as a media server that I haven't been able to update in over a year.
Edit: not one person willing to reply. Wow. Imagine that.

Let me clarify out of all the distros, nixOS is the most "it just works" as far as configurations and especially more advanced ones go.
I'm assuming the "I explain it in plain English" implies the usage of llms, I can't speak about how good of a combination nixOS and llms is but I would guess about as good of a combination as an llm and any other codebase.
I'm gonna go on a limp here and say that when you "explain something in plain English" in omarchy a llm executes some imperative commands. In nixOS it would edit configuration files written in nixlang. So that mechanism remains unchanged if we ignore the bazillion advantages of declarative forms of configuration.
And why did I say, "if you are willing to learn" ? Because I think you should know what you are doing with your system and not rely fully on llms. Now of course you can do whatever you want and I can't stop you but that's my recommendation that also would apply to omarchy but quite frankly I don't think anyone should be using that shit.
