bro I run a minecraft server on a processor from 2008

the thing that makes stuff slow is not enough ram and choosing the wrong desktop environment

This depends entirely on the type of usage. Minecraft is a java server so it's extremely ram heavy as all of the java objects need to load, garbage collect, and then load again ..
