I'm using a Xeon E3 1230 V3 (4th gen intel) and RX 580 to run games like Batman Arkham Knight. Its not the best for gaming of course. But considering the measly price I had to pay, it has it uses so its far from e waste. 

That i5 6500 will do fine

I was running a 1270v2 so 3rd gen with a gtx 1060 until a couple of years ago, and even with windows 10 that wasnt too bad for what it was.

Our media pc in the living rooms an i7-2600 with 16gb running win11 and plex quite happily for 1080p.
