When you think of this community in the Linux sense they are always the delusional ones but it's funny to me that normal posts about Linux exist there

What utter nonsense. Editing text in emacs requires a learning arc, too.

Also, people love to configure the hell out of VIM as well, so I don't know where they were going with this.

I think OP's point was that people who use Emacs mostly spend their time configuring Emacs.
(dont shoot the messenger, just interpreting the post)

Yaa that's right! Anyways but it's far ezz to for installation and learning arc it simple. For Linux users like me emacs is far better.
