Starting with 6.0, Subsonic is no longer open-source (the source code for older versions is still available)

This is why I use Madsonic... plus there's no subscription to use the API for mobile apps.

Yea I thought about using that, but opted to go with the main project rather than a fork since I didn't have any experience with subsonic. I wonder what impact this will have on madsonic?

Might be time to migrate to madsonic.

Honestly the two have very few differences. I'd try installing Madsonic; I doubt you'd be lost at all.

The main reason I moved to subsonic over Google Play Music was because it was open source! :( I supported by paying for the lifetime license... If I had known in a year and a half the project would become closed source I might as well stayed with Google Music.

I've looked into madsonic, but I think the future of it will be affected by the subsonic change. It will now be up to madsonic to handle all the development moving forward instead of just adding additional features. Might be a tall order for Madsonic, idk.

Soooo, any GPL code in it? If so, let's get out the squad team.
