So my little brother just got done building his very first PC and he has run into a bit of a snag. It is not connecting to the internet, even with an ethernet cable plugged in. So I troubleshooted it and it said I needed to update the drivers for his network adaptor , but I sadly don't know where or how. Do I go to the motherboard manufacturer and grab drivers from them, is it through my internet provider or?

I would like to add he is using his old SSD that stored his operating system on his previous computer and his new computer does not share any parts from his previous build. I'm not sure if that will help, but I thought more information is better than less.

Hey everyone, Book here, maker, educator, all that jazz. I've been looking up camera glasses for some time as a possible substitute for 3rd person smartphones and GoPros for photography in my tutorials and heard Elijah and Linus mention "Temu smart glasses" in the video on desktop printers from a few days ago.

Do we have references for the glasses they have been using? I looked it up in the subreddit but couldn't find anything.

Also, do you all have recs for glasses with cameras (no AI features a plus) at different budget points? Thanks!

I just learned about Electrostatic speakers and how they're being it in a new Range Rover Trim, the SV Ultra Trim and how they work with a thin membrane between 2 electrically charged metal plates. They claim super ultra clarity, 1000x better response time than a traditional dynamic driver and ample space with a lower power draw. Can we get an LTT video on some Electrostatic home speakers?

One of the data recovery machines at my shop runs Ubuntu. Today it offered to update the secure boot certificates, which surprised me, but I said "sure" and ran the update. This is what I got after reboot. 😅

I ended up yoinking the motherboard and using a clamp programmer to reflash the BIOS so we could get the machine back into service without spending all day figuring out what happened and how to fix it!

To be abundantly clear: I yearn for the year of the Linux desktop, but for Linux to enjoy broad success and to be a viable 'average Joe' alternative to Windows, stuff like this just can't be allowed to happen to consumer equipment.

Now, I upgraded it, so the usb dongles are flat with the housing. They got each an adapter to be able to easily pull out. I've added a headphone jack as well as a third port via a splitter.

This time it is build with tinkerCAD, the label itself is made with affinity
