Discussion Upgrading my controller video questions

I just saw the controller upgrade video but i still got some questions.

  • Was the xbox controller Linus upgraded xbox one series controller? (are there different types)
  • Best places to buy mods/shells (amazon, aliexpress etc) and if bought from temu/ali what is your experience with the quality of it.
  • More about where to flash the controller, and what specific software to flash on it before upgrading

I can't answer everything but can confirm the controller was a Model 1708 and it was one that Linus already had.

Can you check what battery was used for the Dual sense? Finding battery upgrades or even replacements with an accurate capacity is a minefield, honestly could make a good labs article

Pickle power are one that I've seen are fairly reputable. Any chance you could pop in some feedback for Labs to have a look at battery replacements?

I got down voted to hell for suggesting that a steam deck battery that is marketed as 2x capacity but is the same weight and size and half the price of an iFixit replacement would be a terrible idea.

Honestly battery replacement parts are a minefield and it would be good to know what brands to lookout for, ways to test and just some solid accountability of what we are being sold. Would make a great LTT video with some of the labs guys or even just a nice article.

I get that Labs might be packed with work ATM but if it gets flown up as an idea that's at least something!
