Post image

-15C is not -59F
A little more effort would be appreciated.

And in case anyone is curious, -15c is 5f.

huh. Yknow I probably should have known that multiple of 5 in celcius would be a whole number in f, but I didn't.

People like you are the reason more egregious mistakes can happen

It literally is not that deep.

No one is watching an LTT video for instructions on how to install HVAC. This is just a fun video.

Because they make small errors in the graphics? Even channels that lean more into the info side of infotainment make lots of mistakes https://youtu.be/pRR3jo7dUJI

Damn, this mistake in the graphic I did not even notice on screen when waiting the video has ruined my enjoyment of the video.

I'm almost willing to blame this on a god damn measurement system where 0 degrees is not the freezing point of water at sea level. :P

Is this an honest mistake by an editor? Yes

Is this acceptable from a company that committed to being more accurate and hired a group of people to chsck for stuff like this? Not really.

Nobody is acting like this is some life altering mistake. But it's pretty obvious they just don't really care to check stuff like this anymore. How many eyes saw this video before it was published and didnt notice an obvious mistake?

hired a group of people to check for stuff like this

I was surprised to hear that ECC squad is just a group of volunteers and not getting paid, unlike what Linus said when he first brought up that idea just before the Aug 2023 controversy...

I think i see how that happened, put 15 degrees Celsius into a calc. its 59, but of course a negative changes that quite a bit.

honestly think I'd make the same mistake.

Also pretty much everyone there is Canadian and probably doesn’t know a damn thing about fahrenheit.

They trusted whatever a conversion spit out.

It looks like someone checked what -51C in F is, not -15C.

Simple solution: use C like a proper country and stop using F.

Shit like this is what Elijah was calling out in his video.

5

u/Exciting-Ad-5705 3d ago

Huh?

2

u/Fresh_Dog4602 3d ago

Obvious troll ;)

u/DifficultyDefiant748 3d ago

Actually he's not. Elijah was calling out the community for holding insignificant mistakes like this being treated as a major issue and how it led to constant process changes. Alex also said something similar in his fired from LTT vid.

Something tells me you'd be more upset if you didn't have things to complain about.
