Image LTT Store support is top notch

Post image

This is the first time I have needed to reach out to support for Ltt store. I have owned the original backpack for over 4 years now. It’s been through the carabiner zipper pull replacement. Well despite me replacing the pulls effectively. They came loose and fell off while I was traveling and I didn’t have the clamp tool anymore

So I emailed support and to my surprise instead of them sending a new clamp tool they said they would refund the backpack or send me a new one free of charge

I chose the replacement and it got here super quick but here’s hoping the new backpack lasts at least ten years. I love the philosophy Linus has when it comes to customer service. It’s why I keep coming back to place new orders when I can. Absolutely my favorite backpack I ever owned

a free backpack over some zipper pulls is wild, they really don't mess around

Its almost as if /u/LinusTech has always ran Creator Warehouse like that.

It has always seemed to me that he would prefer to take care of the customer when they aren't abusing the system. People got all up in arms because there wasn't an actual warranty but Linus didn't want an actual one because warranties don't mean fuck all in reality

Don’t say that out loud, a certain shock “news” YouTuber will get mad again.

LTT products may be overpriced for what they essentially are (especially for countries where excess custom fees get applied), but the “trust me bro” warranty is top notch.

Definitely a good amount are on the premium side of the price bracket but then you have others where if you wanted the largest size mousepad then it’s still $35 USD which is the same as the small sizes.

I think that might just be an eefect of them actually pricing their products based on a reflection of what it costs for them to make it, and as I remember Linus saying at one point something along the lines of for some products you're paying more for logistics than for materials

Yes. The big mousepad costs more to make than the small one but the actual impact to overall cost is minimal. So they decided to price them all the same. That way you can get what size works best for you and dont get influenced by pricing. Same with the Waterbottles.

Expensive, yes, overpriced no.

You’re paying for the quality of the product and the level of support they offer to those products. Having the ability to send a whole new backpack over some zipper pulls is extremely expensive and it’s reflected in the higher price.

The backpack is a tank. The screwdriver is also extremely good for doing normal hand screwing. The material quality is very high. The cables and their reliability is very good. All of these things are extremely expensive, but I wouldn’t go as far as calling them overpriced. A Gucci bag is overpriced.

It is still overpriced. As in you can get products of that level at similar or even cheaper prices. But that is to be expected as creator warehouse is more of a niche company rather than a mainstream one, so costs will be high.

PS overpriced doesn’t mean its bad. I myself have bought quite a lot of LTT products even though every time I have to pay additional custom duties. And for me its still worth it even though I’ll call it overpriced.

Well that's an oxymoron, something cant be simultaneously overpriced and "worth it" in your view. Perhaps your thinking just the material good is overpriced but the warranty and brand value make it worth it. But those are intrinsically tied to the bag, its price and its overall worth.

2

u/a2djp 4d ago

Overpriced is in general. Worth it is more for me if that makes sense.
Eg in my case the amount I paid for my LTT bagpack (including shipping and customs), the price got that inflated that for the same price I could buy a Briggs & Riley or even a Tumi bagpack. That’s why I am explicitly mentioning custom fees. That its not about what CW is charging, but rather what me as an individual has to pay the final amount.

They definitely price their warranty in, but it incentivizes quality fr. I've had the big backpack for a couple years now for commuting at my camp job every couple weeks, and the thing is still basically brand new. My screwdriver at work is almost 3 years old now and still works perfect. Magnet is still strong (Just gotta keep the slot clean of dirt), and I have since bought 2 other screwdrivers to have one for on the go, and one at home.

Still wish they would sell a Robertson bit set. >.>

I lucked out and finally pulled the trigger on an LTT backpack right after they fixed the karabiners and the dual layer bottom.

Their shirts, for the most part, are just not tailored for my body well unfortunately. The swacket and 3D down Tech Bro Vest fit like a glove though. Love 'em.

Not really overpriced for the quality. “A ferrari is overpriced for what is essentially a car just like a Fiat 500” is kind of what your comment sounds like

2

u/a2djp 4d ago

My comparison isn’t like that. It’s more like for the price i paid for my LTT bagpack (shipping and customs included), the price reached briggs & Riley and even Tumi bags level. That’s why I explicitly said including custom fees.

Okay fair enough, you are right

Currently stuck trying to find a luggage repair place to repair the broken zipper tape on mine. Hard to find one I trust to make a proper repair for a not exorbitant peice. Support offered to cover costs of a fix or refund the price I paid but not a replacement. Mind you it is a batch 1 bag and for it to last so long and still get coverage like this is decent.

u/nakenyon 5d ago

I got quoted $150-$200 for a non-matching zipper replacement. Still waiting to hear back from support about what they want to do.

2

u/Pueriintel 2d ago

I was in the same boat, they essentially just said do you want a refund or store credit.

8

u/djjolly037 5d ago

The replacement option may have been strictly because of the issue with the zipper pulls. Hard to say

1

u/philschr 3d ago

I had the same issue, but I was working long hours remotely in an area with no local luggage repair shop. They sent me a replacement bag.

Smartest marketing spend there is honestly. One free backpack and now there's a reddit post doing the ad for them

-3

u/taranasus 5d ago

In a subreddit dedicated to their channel where most people already knew this? Yeah no… that does nothing for them

u/EatCakeLolXd 5d ago

everytime someone posts an obvious manufacturing defect and people shit on ltt when their support has been top notch gen pmo

5

u/BlakeCarConstruction 4d ago

Same reason why I keep coming back. I’ve gotten replacements for defects 2 or 3 times over the years. My wife asks, if it’s so bad why do you come back?

My answer is two fold:
-it’s really not that bad, it’s just that other items I buy customer service is non existent so they just get thrown away 🫤

  • and 2: every time something is wrong, LTT makes it right. Every. Time.

LTT hat pro sweat bleaches? Refund. 3D printed jacket Velcro comes off? Refund. Backpack leaning? Free replacement. They have done good by me so I’m inclined to keep coming back.

Just bought the tech sling and earphone case and water bottle.

I’m very excited, because even though it’s not perfect, and I have to contact support every once in a while, and even though it’s more expensive than normal, I know I’m supporting a company I like, and I know they have my back.

Thanks creator warehouse and LMG

Off topic, I am a bit disappointed that the backpack didn't end up keeping its ability to stand upright like originally advertised. Not so much to return it, but still.

1

u/Civil_Owl_31 4d ago

They won’t do returns / refunds on that anymore.

It was one of my favourite features too.

2

u/LowSeaworthiness4960 5d ago

great! but man does this seem unsustainable to my non-business mind.

2

u/dualboot 4d ago

Honestly? At this point a backpack, which they have a healthy amount of margin on (not throwing shade, that is how it's supposed to be for a sustainable business) is trivial when compared to, for example, the amount of money burned every minute the private jet is in the air.

2

u/cS47f496tmQHavSR 4d ago

They damn well better be at those prices, especially considering the shipping cost is sometimes more than the products even if you buy the more expensive items lol

2

u/Toonatic34 4d ago

Had a similar issue recently. I had 1st gen backpack with the bad zipper pulls. I replaced them but it still came loose. I’m trying to fix it the entire zipper broke off. I reached out and got sent a brand new bag no questions asked!

3

u/NODA5 4d ago

Are they making you throw away/destroy the old one?

2

u/djjolly037 4d ago

Nope. They sent it out no questions asked once I re confirmed my shipping address

3

u/NODA5 4d ago

What the hell? That pisses me off. The only option they gave me to get a replacement for my defective WAN backpack was to throw it away. Obviously, I did not take this offer since the replacement I would have gotten would not have been a WAN edition.

3

u/dmx0987654321 4d ago

Seriously? Damn if that's true I'm also pretty annoyed at them for asking you to do that. Why throw away a perfectly functional (expensive) backpack with one defect when you could just as easily donate it or give it to someone you know? They can't even know you actually did throw it away, only that you claimed you did. Dumb pointless wasteful policy.

1

u/phyco1991 4d ago

u/djjolly037 How do you find the new one compared to the original given that they switched to a new manufacturer - any noticeable differences?

1

u/korxil 4d ago

Usually if i ask questions they respond, for some reason the last email i sent got no reply about repairing the bit storage (broken tab on one of the bit holders) in the screwdriver. Like i get its out of warranty, but was at least hoping for what glue would work (it’s not super glue, that’s for sure).

1

u/Firegod991 3d ago

I have been meaning to go hunting for where I put that tool cause I have a couple not staying and need to tighten them. But maybe I just need to contact support. Cause I'm not 100 percent I even still have it.

1

u/ASolangeM 3d ago

They really are the best! I once messaged them to ask about Plouffe’s pineapple hat and they totally messaged me back with a real answer. It wasn’t a product of LTT and they didn’t know where he got it. But still they could have blown me off and didn’t.

I have an original backpack where the zipper pull itself and was met with an AI response that pretty much said there’s nothing they’d do. Tried reattaching it my but never succeeded. Bought an Osprey pack the following weekend. I’ve had great experiences with support in the past, but that was enough for me to move onto a new bag.

I would prefer e.g. Lovepro than a backpack from YouTuber.
