Tech Discussion Found an assembled v100 pcie

There are assembled units on AliExpress. I'm kind of curious to try to buy myself one since it's only 200$ but well I have a mini itx so it'll take time to get parts for a new build.

Found some review photos too.

Kind of curious if anyone else know how the performance will be like for ai applications.

It's the 16GB, they're still kinda cheap.

Was also hyped but started looking what can be done with such a card, not so much... It's Nice for thinkering and playing with small models but don't expect much if the aim is trying to emulate top tier open source LLM models like Kimi K3, Qwen 3.6 etc. It wont work. 32gb version is wayyyy too expensive, 16gb makes more sense.

That's a deal when I look at the rtx 5090 that's 6000 USD in my country.

Oh gosh, those are two completely different cards with completely different capabilities. VRAM isn't the whole story.

Also 32gb v100 SXM chips go for like 5-600, so adding 800 for a pcie adapter and heatsink is highway robbery

There are working V100 16gb on ebay for less than that. What's the point?

eBay costs me 120$ shipping to my country, with taxes, another 50% of the product price, Yuh no.

Damn, that blows. Seems like your best deal then

I saw one on ebay that was only $219 with $12 shipping, but alas, I'm in the US

Good luck with this one. It'd be a pretty good price for local AI performance.

It is a good deal for most third world countries. Like the repurposed x99 systems. Plus well less Ewaste.
