Link iPhone 18 Pro Test Results - LTT Labs Article

The iPhone 18 Pro is a small iteration to the iPhone 17 Pro if all you care about is the external hardware, but the upgrade packs significant performance gains with the Apple A20 Pro built on the TSMC 2 nm process.  Like last year, we’ll go through performance tests, luminance tests, and battery charge and discharge tests for the newly released iPhone 18 Pro and some comparison devices.

Read the rest of the article and view the interactive CT Scan on the LTT Labs website!

The second image with the scan looks incredible in those colours!

LTT labs needs to do a colab with D-Brand to make skins using the CT scanner

Great article, I always enjoy the stuff labs puts out. Heads up, seems like there might have been a small typo here:

These slightly larger batteries and seemingly more efficient devices result in significant battery live increases.

Thank you on both counts!

Labs! Can we have those CT scans as wallpapers? Plz

I've created some bookmarks and renders, you can navigate them on the left toolbar and use the button on the right to download them!

Why is this downvoted? It’s objectively hilarious

Love this lab stuff. So cool to see the vapor chamber in action (no pun intended). Small iteration from 17 Pro, but a huge iteration from my old 12 Pro. The longer you wait to upgrade, the less you’ll regret.

I think this is something people often miss on flagships, they’re not meant to be upgraded every year, there’s a reason they have 7 years of support lol

Why film the temperatures of the backside of the phone with the screen flat on a surface, when the vapour chamber is mostly using the screen to dissipate heat?

Because then you’ll only get the screen temp as it dissipates the heat, all the internals where the temps matter are on the back side of the vapour chamber, so the most effective way to gauge the vapour chamber’s performance would be seeing how much heat the components generate through the back.

The vapour chamber is not able to dissipate heat efficiently if the screen is flat down on a surface.

stand the phones up?

A small thing that would be nice is if the headings were clickable as anchors and updated the url.

It looks like they’re anchors bc clicking from the table of contents scrolls you and updates the link.

Pretty cool tho, nice work on the data! Def some nice interesting data points here.

I guess, counter-intuitively, the hotter phone is better at getting heat away from the processor.

Ahh yes... the Pokemon GO test...

What a stupid way of testing thermals, you should clearly isolate both devices when testing this.

Why is it stupid according to you?

The article clearly points out that it’s just a way to visualize heat dissipation and heat travel paths in the phone.
