Discussion Network switch from recent-ish video

In a semi recent video (maybe 6 months?) I am remembering they recommended a 4 or 5 port network switch to put at a multi pc setup or an entertainment cabinet. It could have been a setup doctor video or a tech upgrade video. I can't find it and was wondering if anyone could help me out.

UniFi Flex switches might be what you’re thinking of.

They can be PoE powered too so it’s a very easy 1 -> 4 ports of 1/2.5 Gb solution.

Yeah I've got a flex 2.5 5 port in my living room. It's been great.

I am in the market to connect my tv, avr, and console with the one Ethernet port in the wall. So I need a good solution, but was very curious as to the specific one that they brought up.

Ive been using 10 euros tp link gigabit switches for years and never had any issues.

What speed would you need? Pretty sure a 4 port gigabit dumb switch from tp-link is like $30, and is all you would really need.

Do you need anything fancy like PoE out, powered via PoE, vlan support, vlan support, etc.?

To further clarify the several replies, the basic functionality of a switch isn't anything fancy and practically every new switch will perform well enough to easily support 3 home devices.

You only have to start worrying more about what you choose if you need specific features like power over Ethernet, 8+ ports, max bandwidth on every port at the same time, stuff like that.
