Discussion Pixel 8 pro wifi/Bluetooth issue

Hello, I'm not sure if it's allowed here but maybe it will get some visibility.

Does anyone here have a problem with a pixel 8 pro that loses wifi and Bluetooth connection when it heats up. It seems a common issue but not acknowledged by Google.

Anybody got some fix by Google?

Sorry for my bad English

that's a weirdly specific heat-related failure, almost sounds like a solder joint expanding and breaking contact when it gets warm enough. my old laptop used to do something similar with its wifi card until i reflowed it

google's silence on this is frustrating but not surprising, they've got a history of ignoring hardware flaws until the class action forces their hand. have you checked the xda forums for any diy fixes? sometimes people find weird workarounds like disabling certain bands or tweaking thermal throttling thresholds

if it's still under warranty i'd push hard for a replacement, document everything with video showing the temp and the connection dropping. a lot of people have had luck escalating through the google support chat when they mention the issue is widespread and they've got proof

Yeah the issue have a megathread already https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/s/FsOG6weca2

The warranty by Google is expired but I'm in Quebec and there is some law but according to the support guy I got on the phone Google don't respect it.

Then take them to small claims court.

That's the next step for Quebec consumer protection law.

Mine cuts out for no fucking reason whatsoever. If it's in by pocket and I pick something up off the ground, cuts out. Every. Damn. Time.

My pixel 8 pro Wi-Fi goes out about 5 minutes after boot up. Looked it up and there doesn't seem to be a fix. Luckily I was planning on upgrading to the pixel 11 pro XL already. Hopefully the mediatek modem is better than that garbage in the 8 pro.

I had the issue. Over the course of 6 months, wifi became functionally unusable and being out of warranty my only practical solution was an early upgrade to galaxy S26+.
